Why in news?

Recently, Scientists from Agharkar Research Institute have found that sporanaerobium hydrogeniformans, a new genus and species of bacteria in a hot spring in Aravali in Ratnagiri district, has the ability to produce hydrogen gas as a byproduct of its metabolism.
